About this data

State output uses the BEA SAGDP tables — real GDP in chained dollars (SAGDP9N) for growth and nominal GDP in current dollars (SAGDP2N) for the dollar level and per-capita figures. Per-capita GDP divides nominal output by Census population. Metro figures roll up from the 14 individual metro reports, which aggregate BEA county GDP. The 159-county map and the Non-Metro Georgia aggregate use BEA CAGDP2 county GDP, covering every county including the 86 outside any metro. The Southeast-peer set is Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama. BEA state and county GDP are annual; sections show a stale badge when the underlying release is more than a year old.
